About Canada-India Business Council
The Canada-India Business Council, founded in 1982, is Canada's only private sector, member-driven, not-for-profit, national association of Canadian companies doing business in India. The Canada-India Business Council delivers programs that help Canadian businesses enter or expand in the Indian market and that help the Canadian government to develop and implement their strategies for India.
The Council's objectives are:
To promote trade and investment between Canada and India by fostering direct contacts between Canadian and Indian business people.
To provide information and advice to member companies with respect to trade and investment matters in India.
To serve as a forum for the exchange of information and views between business executives of Canada and India on issues of importance to both countries.
To advise the Canadian government with respect to policies and programs affecting business relations with India.
Major Programs and Services:
Business Services
The Council provides valuable business services to its members. These include access to high-level private and public sector decision-makers in India and in Canada; leads to different business opportunities and assistance in finding the right joint venture partner or strategic partnership; troubleshooting with unforeseen technical, legal or business problems in India related to your line of business; assistance in the due diligence and business development process; and assistance with business appointments and programs.
Programs
The Council has introduced exciting new programs, which include monthly industry sector-specific national teleconferences ("virtual seminars") involving companies across Canada and business experts; special business briefings and seminars; Canada-India CEO Roundtables, business missions to and from India, and others. Members have priority information about these events, and priority inclusion in them.
